This attached file is six minute presentation I gave back in 2011, regarding the intriguing connections between the 2nd law of thermodynamics, order/disorder and the evolution of life. The presentation is also posted below.
It's remarkable to me that this document still holds up in my thinking as relevant and not too far off base, as I've learned so much more since then about epistemology/knowledge, evolution, physics and human progress in general.
A few additions are made in italics that connect things to more my more recent thoughts.
